However, what it has really needed for some time is a book that provides a comprehensive introduction, and with a good set of examples from the most likely uses - algebra, equation solution, asymptotic limit theory and calculus. This book does exactly that, filling the void between very short and overly simplistic introductions on the web and the Sympy manual. The manual is absolutely fine but there, as might be expected, the emphasis is more on describing all the python modules. Instead this book presents a full set of examples useful to those wanting to learn quickly how to use the software to check their analytical solutions and algebraic derivations.
